Description

The Basler Läckerli is a traditional hard spice biscuit originating from Basel, Switzerland. It is made of honey, almonds, candied peel, and Kirsch. "Lecker" means "delicious" in German. The name "Laeckerli" emerged around 1720, however the popular biscuit was offered already much earlier in "Bürgerhäusern" during Advent time. Basler Läckerli were originally created by local spice merchants over 700 years ago and are available year-round. This cookie keeps well for weeks.

    the cookies arrived in good shape and are the most delicious cookies that I like to have with my hot tea. i try to make sure i always have some on hand in my home.

    Swiss people living in the USA truly appreciate any known Swiss products we have enjoyed while growing up in Switzerland. Basler Laeckerli are the greatest cookies and are liked because of the way they are baked and enjoyable while travelling or hiking. Highly recommend the cookies as they are also liked by "Non Swiss" citiziens.

    I am a "Heimwehbaslerin". Whenever I have a taste of a Baslerläckerli I am transported back to Basel Thank you for making these available without the high cost of having them shipped from Münchenstein (where they are made)to Auburn WA.

    I used to live in Basel, Switzerland and would buy this product at a bakery down near the rhine. this brings back memories. it arrived in good shape and is delicious.

    We love these Basler Leckerli’s. Ever since I was a young child and got to experience Basler Fasnacht, I was treated to these cookies. Not only do they bring back favorite tastes, but they are a great surprise for afternoon teas or other hot drinks.

    These are one of my all time favorites. Have reviewed many recipes to try to make myself and have concluded they are worth every penny to buy the authentic from Basel. Simply delicious! Thank you for making them affordable available.
