Description

The Basler Läckerli is a traditional hard spice biscuit originating from Basel, Switzerland. It is made of honey, almonds, candied peel, and Kirsch. "Lecker" means "delicious" in German. The name "Laeckerli" emerged around 1720, however the popular biscuit was offered already much earlier in "Bürgerhäusern" during Advent time. Basler Läckerli were originally created by local spice merchants over 700 years ago and are available year-round. This cookie keeps well for weeks.

    My aunt had always given me lackerli cookies at Christmas. I didn’t remember what they were called, so I was delighted when I found them on this site. They were every bit as delicious as I remembered them. I had to restrain myself to buy just three bags of them! They are wonderful!!!

    So good! Now if only I could find the hazelnut Bern lackerli, I'm on a hunt. These are the best tasting, just like I remember when we used to get tins of them from my grandparents!!

    Little ginger/orange pastry gems. Just enough sweetness to satisfy a craving. Great alone, or with tea or coffee. Discovered these whilst in Switzerland in December 2016. Was thrilled to be able to purchase them here at home in Michigan. Shipping is a bit steep, but delivery is incredibly fast, and is worth it for such a wonderful treat

    These Leckerli are absolutely authentic, fresh and just like I remember growing up in Switzerland. I saw some comments complaining about shipping costs: try ordering them from Switzerland! The cost is so high that I was not able to get them until I found Swiss Favorites!!! They are absolutely worth the cost to get a taste from home, especially at Christmas. Thank you!
