Description

The Basler Läckerli is a traditional hard spice biscuit originating from Basel, Switzerland. It is made of honey, almonds, candied peel, and Kirsch. "Lecker" means "delicious" in German. The name "Laeckerli" emerged around 1720, however the popular biscuit was offered already much earlier in "Bürgerhäusern" during Advent time. Basler Läckerli were originally created by local spice merchants over 700 years ago and are available year-round. This cookie keeps well for weeks.

    Friends from Switzerland would bring gifts of leckerli back to the US for me and yours are fantastic. Service was great, packaging preserved the cookies. Will definitely order again.

    There is nothing quite like a nice cup of tea and a Basler Laeckerli! So glad to have found a source in the USA for our favorite Swiss treat. Also, Swissfavorites packaging is very impressive - cookie bags wrapped in plastic and packed in very strong cardboard shipping box, with the added protection of an extra layer of cardboard. This protects the cookie packages from damage when opening the outer box. Thank you Swissfavorites for taking such good care of my order!

    I grew up with Thomy and Ovosport. Ricola is a must in our cabinet. Living in Basel I' am familiar with the Basler Laeckerli. It would not be Christmas for our Grandkids without Laeckerli.

    I first discovered these when I had some co-workers from Basel. Now that I'm retired and don't have that source, I get them here. I like them just about any time, for a snack, for dessert, for no reason at all.

    couldnt find a date on the packaging but they seem stale SwissFavorites responds: Sir, the date is stamped at the bottom of the pack, Yours should read October or December 16, and the package was sealed at shipping time. When we tasted a sample today we found nothing untoward. Sincerely, Walter

    Received our five ordered bags on 05/12/16 with expiry dates of 10/31/16 - just marvelous. Does your organization plan to offer 1000g bags in the future as well? Perhaps all year long or around Christmas time (November through January).

    Years ago, Swiss friends introduced us to Basler Leckerli. We look for them at all international stores we visit seldom finding them. So nice to have these fabulous treats available on line.
